Description
The Church of St James is a parish church built in 1875 by R J Jones. It features an aisleless nave and chancel, a north vestry, and a south porch. The exterior is made of flint with stone dressings and has a tile roof. At the east end, there are three small cusped lancet windows, while the west end has a coupled window. This is accompanied by a Perpendicular window from the old church, which is flanked by large stepped buttresses that support a prominent belfry. The belfry has coupled gables and bell openings, with minor buttresses at the top. Inside, the church has a traditional Victorian style, but it also contains a 15th-century octagonal font and some 18th-century tomb slabs in the chancel floor.
