Description
Clare Cottage is a house, now divided into two, dating from the mid-18th century. It features brick walls made of blue headers with red flush quoins and rubbed flat arches. There is a band at the first floor level, and below the ground-floor cill level, the brickwork is in English bond, with a plinth. The end walls are constructed in Monk bond with blue headers. The roof is tiled, with a catslide at the rear that has two 20th-century flat-roofed dormers. The south front has two storeys and three windows, which are casements. There is one doorway with a panelled door, while No 11 has a half-glazed door, and both doorways are topped with gabled hoods. The bricks next to the entrance of Clare Cottage are incised with the initials WLN FC SW RD 1810.
