Description

These three cottages, originally a single house, stand on Station Road in West Meon. They date to the late 16th century, with significant alterations and extensions added in the early and mid-19th century. The building's timber frame is exposed, filled with painted brick. Some lower sections of the front wall are painted brickwork above flintwork. Rear extensions are built of brick in a Flemish bond pattern, featuring blue headers and decorative diaper designs. Painted brickwork is used on the south elevation, which includes a first-floor band and cambered window openings. The roof is tiled, with gablets, a catslide extension to the north of the rear extensions, and a central stack. The front elevation has two storeys and four windows, with casement windows. Two gabled porches, dated to the mid-19th century, feature boarded doors in plain frames, and are present on the east front (Nos 1 and 2). Number 3 has a porch on its south elevation.
