Description
The Market Cross is the only remaining market cross in Sussex, aside from the notable example at Chichester. It features a stone base and shaft from the medieval period, set on a modern brick plinth. Although the cross itself is missing, a cornice-like stone was added at the top in 1833, coinciding with the removal of the old steps.
