Description
Little Barn is a former sawmill that has been converted into a house. It dates back to around 1600 and was altered and extended by one bay to the south in the 20th century. The building is timber-framed with exposed framing, some of which was added in the 20th century, and has plastered infill. It features a steeply pitched tiled roof with gablets. The framing includes deeply jowled posts at the north end and a midrail. There are 20th-century casement windows and a large 20th-century plastered and timber-framed gabled porch. An extension with a pentice is located to the east. Inside, the roof has angled queen struts and curved wind braces. During the conversion works, the sawpit was discovered.
