Description

Two houses, numbered 10 and 12 East Street, were built in the late 18th century, with alterations in the early 19th century and minor changes in the 20th century. Originally, they formed part of a group of three houses. The walls are of painted brickwork in a Flemish Garden Wall bond, with some cambered openings. The roof is tiled, continuing from number 9, dipping at the stack in the middle of number 10, and ending with a half-hip.

The south front elevation has two storeys and a 2-2-1 window arrangement. Number 10 has sash windows in exposed frames, while number 12 has casements. Number 10 features a doorway with a moulded canopy supported by carved brackets, shallow panelled reveals, fluted pilasters, and a six-panelled door. Number 12 has two doorways, each with a canopy on brackets and a half-glazed door. Numbers 6 to 12 form an irregular terrace.
