Description
This is an 18th-century building with a distinctive curved facade, located on Mill Lane in Rodmell. The main building is three storeys high and has five windows. It is constructed of red brick, with the second floor decorated with tile hanging. The roof is tiled, and the original glazing bars remain intact in the windows. There are two entrances at first-floor level, each approached by a set of steps that initially form a single flight before splitting into two halfway up, with an iron handrail running along the whole length. The northern doorway is flanked by small shop windows with intact glazing bars, while the southern doorway has a flat hood supported by brackets. Attached to the northwest end is a flint-faced building with red brick dressings and quoins, originally an outhouse and formerly a cottage, now converted into a separate dwelling known as The Old Pottery. This section is two storeys high and has two windows.
