Description

Nos. 13-16 are a row of terraced houses located in Stanmer Park, Brighton. Nos. 14 and 15 date from the 18th century, while No. 16 and possibly No. 13 are from the 19th century. The exterior of Nos. 14 and 15 features coursed knapped flint, No. 16 has random knapped flint, and No. 13 has a mix of treatments between the two. The houses have brick dressings and tiled roofs.

The buildings are two storeys high with an attic. No. 13 is a single-window range, while Nos. 14-16 have a two-window range. No. 13 extends slightly as a shallow wing at one end, and the outer bay of No. 16 forms a similar wing at the other end. The entrances to Nos. 13 and 16 are segmental-arched, while Nos. 14 and 15 feature gabled porches from the 20th century.

No. 13 has two segmental-arched windows on the ground floor that break into the brick storey band, and one segmental-arched window on the first floor. Nos. 14 and 15 have segmental-arched windows on the ground floor and flat-arched windows on the first floor, positioned close under the eaves. No. 16 has segmental-arched windows with sill bands on both floors in its gabled wing. Both gables are adorned with barge-boards designed as simple trusses, and Nos. 14 and 15 have gabled dormers. The party walls feature stacks with clustered stacks and oversailing courses. The interior has not been inspected.
