Description
Ditchling Court Old Manor House is a complex of buildings originally known as Court Farm. It comprises two parallel ranges running north-south, with a third wing set at a right angle to them, forming an east-west extension. The eastern range of the north wing dates to the 17th century, while the west range and south wing were constructed in the early 19th century and are of a higher elevation. The 17th-century range is built of painted brick, featuring a string course and a brick eaves cornice with cogging, covered by a tiled roof. It contains casement windows with small, square leaded panes. The early 19th-century ranges are stuccoed and have a hipped slate roof and a bracketed cornice to the eaves. These ranges have sash windows from which the glazing bars are missing. A porch with Corinthian columns and a modillion cornice provides access to a doorway with a rectangular fanlight above a double door consisting of six fielded panels. The south wing has three windows.
