Description
Sharplow Farmhouse and its attached outbuildings date from the late 18th century. The farmhouse is built from coursed rubble limestone with gritstone dressings and features a plain tile roof with a brick ridge stack and gable end stacks. It has two and a half storeys and is characterized by angle quoins.
The south elevation has five bays. From left to right, the first bay has a 2-light square section flush mullion window. The second bay has a similar window above, which is linked to a smaller attic window, effectively forming a cross window. The third bay features a 20th-century gabled stone porch with a half-glazed door and a single light window above, which is also linked to a single light attic window. The fourth bay has a 2-light window on the ground floor, while the fifth bay mirrors the first and second bays with an identical window. To the right, there is a lower outbuilding that includes a large gabled porch.
