Description

The William Herton Memorial and railings are located approximately 20 yards south of the chancel of the Church of All Saints in Grindon. This memorial is a pedestal tomb commemorating William Herton, who died in 1822. It is constructed of ashlar and has a square plan. The memorial features fluted corner pilasters, a moulded base and cornice, and is topped with a fluted urn. The tomb is surrounded by wrought iron railings that have urn-capped corner standards.
