PARISH OF EDENSOR MAIN STREET The Bungalow

(Formerly listed as Cottage occupied by Mr Adams, DAISY BANK (south side))

GV II Cottage. c.1830-40. Probably by Paxton and Robertson. Coursed squared sandstone with stone slate roof and stone stacks. Timber bargeboards and moulded finials. Single storey. North elevation of two gabled bays. The angles cut away and supported on square ashlar piers. That to the right has an angled wall behind with a wooden cross window in plain ashlar surround. That to the left forms an open porch of square plan. Panelled door under plain lintel. Between the two a pair of wooden cross windows with margin light glazing, in plain ashlar surrounds. Similar windows to the gable ends. Built as part of the picturesque model village by Paxton for the Sixth Duke of Devonshire.
