Description

SK 28 SW PARISH OF HATHERSAGE SHEFFIELD ROAD 2/56 Whim Cottage II

Lodge. Dated 1844. Regularly coursed squared gritstone with ashlar dressings, quoins, plain eaves, single ashlar end ridge stack with moulded cap, and a stone slated roof. Stepped range of two bays, that to the north east lower, and set back from taller range, which has 2-light chamfer mullioned windows with hoodmoulds and stops to south west and south east elevations. Lower range has moulded Tudor arch to doorway, and a plain planked door, all enclosed by a lean-to porch with glazing bars to windows, South west gable carries dated oval plaque in apex of gable, beneath hoodmould.
