Description
The gateways, gatepiers, and gates located approximately 30 yards east of the Church of St. James and St. Bartholomew date from around 1840. They are constructed of ashlar stone and feature wrought iron gates, showcasing Gothic and Romanesque design elements. The structure is aligned north-south and faces east. It includes two octagonal gate piers with arcaded sides and crenellated caps that flank a pair of gates adorned with scrolled decoration on spear-capped standards. There are round-arch wicket gates on the left and right with nook shafts, and the wall above is crenellated. These gates serve as the main entrance to the churchyard of St. James and St. Bartholomew.
