Description
Brook House is an early 19th-century farmhouse located in Waterhouses. It is constructed from coursed and squared limestone rubble, featuring ashlar quoins and dressings, and has a plain tile roof with brick integral end stacks. The building has a T-shaped plan, with the main range aligned east-west facing south, and a rear kitchen wing aligned north-south, which includes a lean-to pantry extension at the north-west angle between the two ranges. The house is two storeys high with a gable-lit attic and consists of three bays. The left side has three-light chamfered mullioned windows, while the right side features 16-pane glazing bar sashes with horns. The central first floor has a Venetian window, and there is a central door. Inside, the kitchen fireplace is notable for its massive bresummer.
