Description

Oldfield Farm is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century, with a later addition. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, featuring sandstone ashlar quoins and dressings. The roof is made of clay tiles with coped verges on kneelers, and there are brick integral end stacks. The layout includes two front rooms and two back rooms that communicate through a central entrance passage, which contains the staircase, along with a rear extension wing.

The building is three storeys high and has three windows on the front. The flat-faced mullions include three lights in the ground, first floor, and second floor windows on the right, while the second floor window on the left has a single light. The central window on the first floor is circular, and the central window on the second floor has a semi-circular head. The second floor window on the right is partially blocked. There is a central square-headed doorway with a 19th-century half-glazed door.

At the rear, there is a three-tier stair window, with the lights separated by two transoms. Inside, the windows are set within segmental-headed rere-arches, and the mullions are chamfered. The staircase is a plain straight flight, and the roof features three pairs of purlins without a ridge piece.
