Description
Cliff Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1664, with some alterations made in the early 19th century and additions in the 20th century. It is constructed from coursed, squared buff sandstone rubble and features a Kerridge stone-slate roof, a stone ridge, and two stone chimneys. The building has an L-shaped plan and is two stories high with a three-bay south front. The right end bay projects significantly forward under a gable. This bay includes a three-light, chamfered-stone mullion window under a rubble hood mould on the upper storey, with a 19th-century wooden casement window beneath it. The left side of this projection has two bays with single light windows on both storeys and a boarded door beneath a plain lintel, which has a date tablet reading "FL 1664" above it. The remaining two bays to the left are under a raised roof and feature a mix of two and three-light horizontal sliding sashes and wooden casements. Inside, ovolo moulded beams are visible.
