Description
This stable and coach house, built around 1818 for the Commissioners of Greenwich Hospital, is located approximately 30 yards north-west of Thorneyburn Rectory. The structure is made of random rubble with ashlar dressings and features a graduated Lakeland slate roof. It has two storeys and four irregular bays.
The building includes a nearly central high segmental carriage arch with boarded double doors. To the left is a stable with a boarded door and a 6-pane casement window. On the right, there are boarded double doors leading to the cartshed. The first floor has two shuttered windows and one casement window. The roof is gabled with flat coping.
On the right side, there are stone steps leading up to the granary.
