Description
The garden wall and attached byres to the east of Charlton Old Farmhouse date from the 18th century. The structure is built of random rubble and features Welsh slate roofs. The wall measures approximately 120 feet long and 12 feet high, topped with coved coping. Behind the wall, there are sheds, including a cart shed with a segmental arch on the left. The byres consist of four units, each with alternating-block surrounds for stable doors. On the right, there is an additional cart shed that has a double entry and is supported by a square stone pier. The roof of the cart shed is gabled with flat coping.
