Description
The Salmon Inn is an 18th-century inn that has been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of random rubble and features a Welsh slate roof. The building was likely originally designed as a cross-passage house with a downhouse layout. It stands two storeys tall and has five irregular bays.
The entrance is located off-center in the third bay, featuring a chamfered 18th-century alternating-block surround. The ground floor windows are 20th-century casements set in their original openings, while the first floor has small-paned casements located in half-dormers. There are older, smaller blocked first-floor windows visible beneath the later openings.
The gabled roof includes two end stacks and one ridge stack, with the left stack having an external chimney breast. Inside, there is an early 18th-century fireplace with an old wooden lintel.
