Description
The lime kiln, located 90 metres north of Moor Cottage, is a disused structure dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It is constructed of squared stone laid in narrow courses and features a two-cell design that is partly built into the bankside. The front and returns of the kiln are slightly battered, and it has squared quoins. The kiln includes corbelled, triangular-headed openings and small segmental-arched pots in the rear wall of each cell. This structure serves as a notable landscape feature.
