Description

Swiss Cottage is a house that likely dates back to the 17th century, although it has earlier origins. It features a cruck frame and is constructed from sandstone and limestone rubble, topped with a thatched roof and brick stacks. The original hearth-passage entry has been blocked off. The building consists of three bays and has one storey with an attic. The entrance is a boarded door, with two three-light Yorkshire sash windows to the left and one two-light Yorkshire sash window to the right, all set beneath wooden lintels. In the attic, there is a three-light Yorkshire sash half dormer in the second bay. The house has a stack at the left end and another ridge stack to the right of the passage.
