Description

Mill Cottage is a house from the first half of the 18th century. It is built from coursed sandstone blocks and has a pantile roof with brick stacks. The layout follows a lobby-entry plan and the building has two storeys with three windows on the first floor. The entrance features a boarded door set in a wooden porch, with a three-light Yorkshire sash window to the left and a two-light Yorkshire sash window to the right, both topped with wooden lintels. On the first floor, there is a 20th-century casement window flanked by a three-light Yorkshire sash window on the left and another 20th-century casement window on the right. Above the door, there is a blocked square window. The roof is steeply pitched and there is a stack at the left end. The building is included for its group value.
