Description
The front boundary wall and archway at the Old Hall is an early 17th-century structure, approximately 20 meters long, built for Sir John Hart. It is constructed of rubble sandstone and ashlar. The wall features ashlar ovolo coping and slopes down to the right near both the left and right ends. The gate piers, likely a later addition, are square in shape and topped with rounded caps. Near the center, there is a gateway with a moulded surround and a Tudor-arched head beneath a hood mould. Above this, the coping is ridged and includes a central sundial and ball finials at each end.
