Description
The entrance gate piers at Colville Hall date from the early 17th century and are constructed of ashlar sandstone. They are square in plan and feature ovolo-moulded shell niches set within ogee-moulded flat-headed panels. These panels have sunken spandrels and torus moulding on the projecting sills of the niches. The piers have bow-shaped caps, which appear to be of a later date, suggesting that they may have originally been part of an archway.
