Description
Blow Gill Farmhouse is a house dating from the late 18th century, with alterations and an extension made in the early 19th century. It is constructed from sandstone rubble and ashlar, topped with a pantile roof. The building was originally designed as a two-cell direct-entry house but was later remodeled and raised with the addition of a third cell that has a direct entry on the right side. At the rear, there is a single-storey cross wing. The farmhouse has two storeys and features three first-floor windows. The front includes a boarded door with a fire window immediately to the right, a two-light Yorkshire sash window to the left, and two more to the right. There is another boarded door at the extreme right. On the first floor, there are two-light Yorkshire sash windows. The roof has gable coping and a swept design, with stacks at the left end and on the ridge. Inside, there is a corniced stone fireplace and a stone heck.
