Description
Harker Gates is a house built in the late 18th century. It features limestone rubble construction and a pantile roof. The building has a three-cell direct-entry layout and stands two storeys high, with three windows on the first floor. Notable architectural details include quoins, some of which display herringbone masonry. The entrance consists of a four-panel door, with a two-light Yorkshire sash window to the left and two more to the right. On the first floor, there are two-light Yorkshire sash windows, and flat arches are present throughout the building. The gable has coping, and shaped kneelers are visible, although the left end stack is missing. There are stacks at the ridge and right end. Inside, the house features a corniced stone fireplace with a heck and boxed bressumer, as well as a cast iron range with components made by Carter of Kirbymoorside and Yates of Malton.
