Description

This cottage, located at the east corner of Smithy Lane, dates from the 18th century or earlier. It is constructed of painted brick and features a hipped thatched roof. The building is 1½ storeys high and has four bays, with an off-centre and end chimney. The windows are early 19th-century casements. A gabled painted brick porch is present on the end facade facing Smithy Lane. The cottage occupies an important position, set back in a garden at a road junction.
