Description
Vicars Hill Lodge is a house dating from the 18th century, which was refronted in the late 18th or 19th century and extended in the 20th. It is constructed of red brick, with a refronting of yellow brick and tilehanging, and has slate and plain tile roofs. The building is two storeys and has an attic, with one end displaying an 18th-century two-storey, two-bay section and a hipped end to a 20th-century addition.
The entrance front features a refronted section to the right with a six-panel door set under a Doric porch, positioned to the left of centre. There are twelve-pane sash windows with rubbed brick arches. A stone string course sits below the parapet. Three pedimented, two-light dormers are visible on the roof. End stacks are present, and the left-hand, 18th-century section has a 20th-century casement window and a sixteen-pane sash. Further similar sashes are above. A stone string course and parapet are also present. A large ridge stack stands between the bays. The left-hand end of the roof is half-hipped.
