Description

Shatton Lodge is a house dating to the late 18th century with alterations and additions made in the mid-19th century. It is built with painted roughcast walls, featuring V-jointed quoins and eaves modillions. The roof is of graduated greenslate with a right coped gable, kneelers, gable bargeboards, and cement-rendered chimney stacks. The house has two storeys and five bays. A panelled door is set within a painted stone surround and is sheltered by a 20th-century wooden porch. Sash windows with glazing bars are set in painted stone surrounds with hood moulds. Narrow central windows and three gabled dormers add to the facade. A mid-19th century extension is located to the left of the entrance, while the remainder of the building was completely refenestrated in the 19th century.
