Description
Seathwaite Farmhouse and the adjoining barn are notable structures located in Borrowdale, with the farmhouse dated to 1663 based on timber found in the interior, and the barn dated to 1851. The farmhouse features painted roughcast walls, while the barn is constructed from slate rubble and has projecting drip slates. Both buildings are topped with a graduated greenslate roof, which includes roughcast chimney stacks and slate cowling. The farmhouse has ground-floor Yorkshire sash windows with glazing bars set in enlarged plain reveals, and there is a 20th-century door in a plain opening. The barn is equipped with a plank door and a casement window. The buildings have undergone some alterations in the 19th century.
