Description
This building is an outbuilding, specifically stables, located 10 metres south of The Notley Arms and dated 1860. It is constructed from red sandstone random rubble with quoins and features a hipped slate roof. There is a brick stack on the left side and at the rear. The structure is two storeys high and has five bays. The first floor has segmental headed two-light casement windows with many panes. The ground floor includes a central segmental headed carriageway entrance with square headed double doors that have ornamental hinges. To the right, there is a partially renewed three-light casement window, and to the left, inserted double garage doors. Concrete steps lead to a first-floor loft entrance on the right return. An octagonal plaque in the centre of the first floor is inscribed with "IG.BN 1860." This building served as the stables for The Notley Arms.
