Description

No. 6 Castle Hill is an early to mid-19th century front applied to an earlier building. The front is constructed of random rubble with ashlar quoins. The first floor has a jettied timber frame, and the roof is slate-covered. Brick chimney stacks project from the side wall, incorporating small gabled roof returns. The building has two storeys. A 4-light window with a diamond pattern of leaded glass and moulded wood mullions is located on the first floor. On the ground floor is a 17th-century 5-light casement window with glazing bars, ovolo moulded wood mullions, frame, and a hood mould. To the right of the window is a ribbed door, set within a chamfered wooden lintel and a moulded oak frame.
