Description
The Elizabeth Conibeer tombstone, located in the churchyard of the Church of All Saints, is a late 18th-century memorial made of York stone and stands about one metre high. It features a moulded head with incised decoration. The inscription is in fine lettering and reads: "In Memory of Mrs Elizabeth Conibeer aged eighty-five years and her two daughters Anne aged forty-five and Sarah forty-three who was all Inhumanely Murdered in the Day of the Fifth of January 1773 In their House at Woodford in this parish." The murder occurred at Court Cottage in Woodford. This tombstone is primarily listed for its historic interest.
