Description
Woodland View and Southmead are two houses, originally three properties, dating from the early 19th century. They are constructed of whitewashed rendered cob on stone rubble footings, topped with a thatched roof that is hipped at the ends and features an end stack. The houses have a single depth plan and are two storeys high. The long facade has seven windows with regular spacing, including two half-glazed 20th-century front doors, one of which is sheltered by a gabled porch canopy. The windows are 2-light casements with three panes per light; the right ground floor window and the fifth first floor window have 20th-century glazing but are set in their original openings. The interior has not been inspected. A description from 1952 notes that there were three similar dwellings, with the center one used as a vicarage. These cottages are located directly opposite the parish church in the center of Dunsford Village and significantly contribute to the character of this cob and thatch village.
