Description
This large barn, located about 15 meters north-west of Waye Farmhouse, likely dates from the 17th or 18th century. It is constructed from granite rubble and features a corrugated-iron roof that is half-hipped at the east end, while the west end has been gabled, although the timbers of the former half-hip can still be seen inside. There is an owl hole in the west gable. The barn has plank doors, most of which have been renewed, with old wrought-iron strap-hinges. On the north wall, there is a medieval, shouldered-head wood door-frame that likely originates from another location. The roof trusses are from the 18th or early 19th century, with collars pegged to the faces of the principal rafters. This barn is included for its group value with the farmhouse.
