Description
7A Queen's Square is a former wheelwright's shop that has been converted into a house. It dates from the early 19th century and is constructed of stone rubble, featuring a jettied, weatherboarded upper storey that faces Queen's Square. The building has a slated roof and stands two storeys tall. On the ground floor, there are large double doors on the left and a 25-paned fixed sash window on the right. The upper storey includes old, plank double loading doors with strap-hinges to the left and a 2-light mullioned-and-transomed window with small panes to the right. The interior has been significantly altered, but it retains old beams running from front to back, which are simply pine trees without the bark. The roof has been reconstructed, although one tie-beam and some other timbers still survive at the wall-top level.
