Description
The cider house, likely built in the 18th century, is located adjoining Woodlands at the west end. It is constructed of cob and stone rubble and features a thatched roof that is hipped at the ends. The building is positioned at right angles to the farmhouse, forming part of a narrow farmyard in front of Woodlands. It is built into the slope of the land, providing first floor access at the rear.
On the exterior, the lofted cider house has a large doorway at the front, a 2-light window to the right, a loft window to the left, and pigeon holes with flight ledges. Inside, there are collar rafter roof trusses, although the cider press is no longer present. This structure is part of an outstanding group that includes the farmhouse and other farm buildings.
