Description
This is a farmbuilding, likely dating from the late 17th century, located south of and parallel to Woodlands Farmhouse. It is constructed of cob and stone rubble, topped with a thatched roof that is hipped at the left end, and it is adjacent to a cider house on the right. The building forms one side of a narrow yard in front of the farmhouse and has a rectangular shape with a later single-storey lean-to added at the rear.
The exterior features lofted sections on both the left and right of a central entrance, with a single-storey section in the middle. There is a doorway in the front at the center, and external steps lead up to a loft doorway on the right. Inside, the lofted areas have rough plank partitions, and there is a steep ladder leading up to the left-hand lofted section, which is plastered internally. The roof contains various trusses, with the earliest likely dating from the late 17th century. This building is part of an outstanding group that includes the farmhouse and other farm buildings.
