Description

This is a headstone dated 1829, located approximately 9 metres south of the tower of the Church of St Mary in Belstone. It commemorates Anne Palthridge and is made of slate. The upright slab stands about 750mm high and features an unusually shaped head with a pattern of calligraphic-like flourishes. The inscription is in Roman serif upper and lower case lettering, noting the death of Anne Palthridge in 1821. The back of the headstone is signed by N. Pearce.
