Description

The Coronation Stone is a Grade II listed structure located in Belstone, dated 1911. It was erected to commemorate the coronation of King George V. The stone is a tall, roughly-dressed monolithic granite post that stands approximately 2.2 meters high. The front of the stone is inscribed with "GRV, 22.vi.1911," while the rear features an inscription commemorating the Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. At the top of the stone, there is a length of cast iron, which may have served as the base for a lamp holder or a sign-post.
