Description

These gate piers, located approximately 160 metres north-west of Chagford House, date from around 1820 and are constructed from granite ashlar. Each side of the drive to Chagford House features two square section piers that have plain projecting cornices and low pyramid caps. The piers are connected by short sections of wall topped with low-pitched weathered coping. Although the wrought iron gate is from the 20th century, its design appears to be a reproduction of the original style.
