Description

Butterwell is a spring well located in a roadside bank approximately 80 metres east of Gidleigh Barton. It likely dates from the 18th century and is constructed from roughly-shaped slabs of granite. The well has a roughly square plan over the spring and features a corbelled roof made of large granite slabs. There is also a low slab across the front of the well, which faces the road to the west.
