Description
A row of eight bee boles is located approximately 4 metres south of Batworthy Mill. Likely dating from the 19th century, these bee boles are constructed from slabs of roughly dressed granite, which are set into a granite stone rubble wall. The bee boles are arranged in square niches on the south face of a low curving garden wall and were once used for housing bee skeps. This is an unusually large number of bee boles for Devon, making them not only attractive but also significant.
