Description

Ash House is located about 30 metres north-west of Woodlands Farmhouse and is probably from the 19th century. It is constructed of stone rubble with granite quoins and features a corbelled stone roof. The building has a rectangular shape with a square-headed doorway at one end and a small rectangular opening at the other end, which is now blocked. The small opening was used for loading household ash, while the doorway at the opposite end originally had an iron fire-proof door. Ash was removed from this end and mixed with guano for use in the fields.
