Description

Earne Cottage is a small cottage, probably from the 18th century. It has granite rubble walls and a granite rubble stack that projects with on-sets and a drip-course. The roof is made of corrugated asbestos, gabled to the left and hipped to the right.

The cottage has a simple plan with one room on both the first and ground floors, and there is a direct entry to the left of the front. It is two storeys high and features a single window front. On the ground floor, there is a door to the left and a window to the right, which likely occupies the original position of a door. The windows are 20th-century wood casements. There is also an outbuilding attached at the rear.

The interior has not been inspected, but this cottage is a rare example of an 18th-century one-room plan house.
