Description
This is a medieval cross located about 350 metres north-west of Oldsbrim Farmhouse and approximately 15 metres south-east of the junction of the B3357 with the road to Ponsworthy. Made of granite, the cross is much mutilated and consists of a single, roughly-shaped piece of stone that tapers towards the top. The cross-head is still visible but weathered, and while the stump of the left arm remains, the right arm has been completely removed. There are two lead plugs on the back, indicating that the cross may have been used as a gatepost at some point. The cross was moved from Lower Town Farm in Widecombe and re-erected at this location since 1937.
