Description
The headstone for Frederick Foot is located approximately 150 meters southeast of the Church of St Andrew in Ashburton. It commemorates Frederick Foot, an artist who passed away at Lustleigh on February 4, 1908. The headstone is made of white marble and features lead lettering. The inscription is designed to resemble a drawing board that is supported by an easel, with a palette and brushes attached. The stone is topped with a shaped scrolled pediment. Frederick Foot, who was 77 years old at the time of his death, was the youngest son of Peter Foot. He is recognized for his drawings of the old market house in Ashburton, created shortly before its demolition in 1849.
