Description
Two St Clair monuments are located in the churchyard, about 2 meters northeast of the northeast corner of the chancel at the Church of St Catherine. These are two pyramid pedestal tombs, commemorating D L St Clair, who died in 1861, and his wife, who died in 1851. The monuments were created by R Allen of Cheltenham and are made of stone. Each tomb features a three-step base with a steeply tapering pyramid above. The lower part has a raised trapezoid panel, with a double-step rising above it, and a plain upper half that has weathered over time. Both monuments are set on wider paving and were originally surrounded by iron railings. They are an unusual pair, positioned side by side at an angle to the church.
