Description
The William Noad monument is a pedestal tomb located in the churchyard of the Church of St. John the Baptist, approximately 11 metres northeast of the chancel. It commemorates William Noad, who died in 1793. The tomb is made of limestone and has a square plan with recessed corners. Each of the four sides features raised oval inscription plaques, with paterae at each corner. Inscriptions can be found on the north, east, and west sides, although the inscription on the west side is illegible. Above the inscription panels, there is a band of fluted decoration. The monument is capped with a moulded and stepped design, topped by an urn that has reeded decoration.
